The Port of Brussels is launching a Request For Information (RFI) for a 21,000 m² plot of port land on the Quai de Heembeek. This strategic location could benefit more than one project.
Do you have an innovative project in mind? The call for projects from the Société Régionale du Port could tempt you. The Port of Brussels is making available 21,000 m² of port space on the left bank of the outer harbour, on the Quai de Heembeek (municipality of Neder-Over-Heembeek).
A Request For Information (RFI) has been launched in order to benefit from this plot of land. This is a document in which the Port of Brussels gathers information on the innovative projects of parties interested in this site (and which must be completed by these parties).
With a length of 174 metres, this site offers a strategic commercial and economic opportunity. Accessible to the shipping lanes of the Brussels-Capital Region, the site offers tri-modal connectivity (water, rail, road).
Towards a circular economy
Through this call for projects, the Port of Brussels wishes to invest in sustainable urban logistics. ‘The Port wishes to stimulate the creation and selection of business projects that give concrete expression to the “Shifting Economy” economic transition movement, that contribute to achieving the climate objectives set by the Brussels Government, and that offer real added value for economic activity and employment in the Brussels-Capital Region’, says the Société Régionale du Port de Bruxelles.
In addition, as the site is located in the Zone d'Activités Portuaires et de Transport (ZAPT), the call for projects is aimed at innovative plans that wish to develop an economic activity linked to the maritime routes.
Would you like to develop your project here? Submit your Request For Information before 31 July 2024.
