Innoviris, the public body that finances and supports research and innovation in the Brussels-Capital Region, is launching three calls for projects. The aim is to support the development of innovative, circular and scientific activities. Here they are.
Circular Innovation: Re-use & Recycle
The Circular Innovation call for projects encourages innovative circular activities based on recycling or reusing waste, but which still need to verify their feasibility. It helps companies to experiment with the design of their project, as well as exploring different sources of supply for waste. In other words, Innoviris offers a subsidy (covering 50% to 70% of the company's budget) to test the feasibility and (economic) viability of the project.

Innovative Starters Award
Innoviris is launching a call for projects for Brussels-based start-ups that are particularly innovative in the field of high technology. Through the ‘Innovative Starters Awards’, the public organisation is prepared to release €500,000 to reward the best strategic innovation plan. Candidate small businesses must submit their plan to Innoviris by 5 July 2024. It will then be assessed by a panel of experts. In addition to the subsidy, the best plans will receive the ‘Innovative Start-Up of the Year’ prize.

SP-Event
Through this call for projects, Innoviris is supporting the promotion of temporary events aimed at children, young people and/or the general public that celebrate science. The aim is to attract young people in Brussels to take up STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) related studies and careers, and to encourage scientific culture in Brussels. The call for projects will cover up to 80% of the costs.
