Supported by BECI, BeCode is a non-profit organization that trains individuals for digital careers, with a focus on artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. It now offers training tailored to the needs of businesses.

What is BeCode? This non-profit organization's mission is to provide training in digital skills, particularly in artificial intelligence, within just seven months. "We train juniors who are specialized in specific areas," emphasizes Béatrice de Mahieu, CEO of BeCode. Thanks to a recent partnership with BECI, BeCode now offers training programs specifically designed to meet the needs of companies.

Positioning itself as a key player in the training and integration of tech talent in Belgium, BeCode firmly believes that everyone deserves a chance to succeed in the digital field. The organization is committed to making education accessible, relevant, and aligned with market demands.

From AI to Cybersecurity

BeCode offers a range of training programs, ranging from artificial intelligence to cybersecurity. "We also address generic digital and web professions," notes Béatrice de Mahieu. For 2025, one of BeCode's major innovations will be collaboration with specific innovation hubs. "We will develop training programs lasting three to four months, focusing on tools such as Microsoft Dynamics, Cisco, and Odoo. This approach will enable us to be more effective in helping participants find employment," she explains. "We will really implement a more regular and specific rollout for employment, both for job seekers and those wishing to enhance their skills within their companies."

This year, the school has already conducted two pilot programs, including one with Bpost. "Out of ten participants, seven successfully changed their careers internally, moving from sorting center positions to roles as [Microsoft] Dynamics consultants. This is a life-changing opportunity for these individuals," emphasizes Béatrice. Thus, far from replacing jobs, digital skills create new opportunities, and BeCode is convinced that these competencies can transform lives and careers.

For Local and Digital Businesses

With the partnership signed with BECI, BeCode strengthens its commitment to the economic sector. "Our largest campus is in Brussels. Thanks to BECI, we can identify the digital skills that local businesses are seeking," states Béatrice de Mahieu. This collaboration allows for the provision of internal training programs, which are crucial in a rapidly transforming digital landscape.

With BECI, "we aim to offer training for companies because it is essential to equip existing staff with technological skills, particularly in generative artificial intelligence, to ensure they stay updated with changes," she adds. The training will also cover the impact of AI and cybersecurity in the business world, as well as within organizations, addressing risks and best practices to adopt.

AI in the Job Market

How does artificial intelligence influence the job market? Béatrice answers without hesitation: "AI is already present and acts as a super assistant at hand for many tasks. Companies realize that their employees do not know how to use AI tools, such as an internal ChatGPT, and therefore do not utilize them." The CEO of BeCode reminds us that these tools facilitate administrative tasks within the company, as well as report writing.

She emphasizes the importance of training influential individuals within companies who can then share their knowledge. "We want to ensure that they know how to use the artificial intelligence tools available to them," she adds.

BeCode welcomes learners from all backgrounds, whether they are recent graduates, job seekers, or individuals undergoing career transitions. This philosophy of inclusion aims to reduce inequalities and promote equal opportunities in the tech sector. Additionally, BeCode contributes to job creation in the region by training qualified professionals in the digital field.

No prior skills are required; only motivation matters. For Béatrice de Mahieu, "it doesn't matter whether the learner is already a worker or seeking employment; what we ask of them is to have strong motivation. That is how change occurs, and how we can reinvent the future." However, for cybersecurity roles, some basic coding knowledge is required, "but we focus primarily on the willingness to learn," the CEO reiterates.
