Brussels, 3 October 2024 - BECI and InterSkillar are joining forces to promote employment for Brussels youth thanks to the SKUP programme: a revolution in career guidance.
BECI announces a strategic partnership with InterSkillar, an innovative career guidance start-up, to help launch their SKUP programme. This collaboration aims to achieve BECI's ambitious goal of increasing the employment rate in Brussels to 80% by 2030. By focusing on innovation and artificial intelligence, this initiative promises to transform the employment landscape for young talent in Brussels.
Artificial intelligence: a driving force for jobs and international competitiveness
In today's landscape, young talent must navigate a complex and fragmented career guidance process, often involving multiple disconnected resources, which hinders their autonomy and progress to take control of their future.
In response to these challenges, InterSkillar launched its career guidance app in November 2023 to support young people in this important phase of their professional career. As a true ‘pocket career coach’, it uses artificial intelligence and advanced psychometrics to help young people identify their unique skills and choose a suitable career path.
In just a few minutes, users gain valuable insights into their strengths and areas for development, as well as a personalised toolbox to help them enter the job market. Thanks to this application, InterSkillar has recently expanded to Morocco and continues to explore international opportunities.
SKUP: an innovative youth employment programme
As a complement to its flagship application, InterSkillar is launching the SKUP programme to tackle the challenges of the Brussels job market by combining training workshops, mentoring and business meetings over a 4-month period.
Thierry Geerts, CEO of BECI, says: 'Brussels is full of talent, Brussels has potential that we're not using enough.' This initiative aims to unleash that unused potential. Leïla Maidane, CEO of InterSkillar, highlights the costly consequences for the economy caused by the lack of guidance for young people and the widening gap between businesses and the new generations.
With the unemployment rate among young people on the rise, the SKUP programme aims to reconnect new generations with the job market and give them the tools they need to take their first steps into working life autonomously. Using a skills-based approach, the SKUP programme aims to reduce barriers to accessing the labour market and improve the representation of the diversity of Brussels talent within companies.
Talent Matching Night: The event you can't miss
As the highlight of this collaboration, BECI and InterSkillar are organising a Talent Matching Night on 24 October. This unique event aims to build direct bridges between Brussels companies and young talent, in order to create more employment opportunities for young people.
