Urban planning

Environment, rights & objections

Are you an entrepreneur with questions about urban planning or the environment? You don't know whether you need a permit for a building, a usage change, the installation of a banner, a chimney or a shutter... The Hub.Brussels website  will provide you with information and help you with the first steps in obtaining your urban planning permit. For information on environmental permits, visit the Brussels Environment website. There is also interesting information on this topic on the website of 1819

What to do in case of a problem?

The role of HUB , 1819 or Brussels Environment is not to assist you in the event of infringements or appeals against administrative decisions... But the good news is that it is the role of your Chamber of Commerce to inform you of your rights and to help you, where necessary, to defend yourself!

Examples of cases already dealt with:

→ A company that was unaware that its building had been affected by a planning or environmental irregularity for decades receives a statement of offence.

→ An entrepreneur has resumed an activity that turns out not to comply with environmental regulations.

→ A company is refused a permit or the competent authority has not issued an opinion.

→ An entrepreneur had submitted a mixed permit: the urban planning part was granted but not the environmental part.

→ A company learns that it does not have the required authorisation to carry on its business.

We can help you define your rights, the actions you could take and the possible remedies.
