Market Access Day 2024

Participate to the Market Access Day 2024 to learn about the opportunities and challenges of EU trade policy for your business, including how to benefit from free trade agreements and how to use tools such as the Access2Markets platform. EU Trade policy has a strong influence on European companies in their international trade and exports to third countries. Free trade agreements with third countries are developed to support and protect European companies in their trade relations.

Businesses, and in particular SMEs, need update information and guidance to fully benefit from these agreements and face trade barriers. As partner of this day, BECI / Enterprise Europe Brussels wants to inform and raise awareness of businesses about the support and tools of the EU Commission helping them to seize these opportunities.

Does your company trade with countries outside the EU? Do you face trade barriers and need expert advice on how to tackle these? How can you benefit from EU trade agreements and grow your business overseas?

BECI / Enterprise Europe Brussels invites you to attend the MARKET ACCESS DAY 2024 organised in Brussels on Wednesday June 26 in the context of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in collaboration with the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Commission Directorate General for Trade (DG Trade), Enterprise Europe Network Vlaanderen and Wallonia, hub.brussels, AWEX, FIT, and Vlaio. Denis Redonnet, Deputy Director General and Chief Trade Enforcement Officer will deliver a keynote on Enforcement and implementation of EU trade policy and its potential for Belgium.

WHY PARTICIPATE?

Market Access Day 2024 will allow Belgian companies and economic actors to learn more about the opportunities and challenges of EU trade policy, including the free trade agreements with third countries and tools such as the Access2Markets platform

Access2Markets is a portal that allows EU exporters and importers to find detailed information on: tariffs, rules of origin, taxes and additional duties, import procedures and formalities, product requirements, trade barriers and trade flow statistics, so that you can find the best source or export market for your products.

Free Trade Agreements remove customs duties and bureaucracy that European firms face when exporting to specific countries. Industry practitioners will testify about how they benefited from doing business in countries with a free trade agreement such as Canada, South Korea and Japan. The New Zealand Ambassador to the EU and the [representative of DG Trade] will debate about the advantages of the most recent European Union – New Zealand Free Trade Agreement which entered into force on May 1, 2024.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS EVENT?

Market Access Day 2024 is aimed exclusively at Belgian companies, business organisations, trade promotion professionals and others interested in the internationalisation of their products and services.
