PechaKucha Night Brussels Vol. 71

Being a successful entrepreneur means being open, resourceful, constantly coming up with new ideas and pushing boundaries. It is not always easy, but you can learn from others that have been there!

PechaKucha event is a unique format, where in one evening we will showcase 10 stories of sustainability, design, and innovation. You will learn about new approaches to existing businesses, extraordinary design-thinking, and sustainable solutions. We want to inspire you to challenge the status quo, think outside the box, and follow the unconventional paths!

On 22 January at 20.00, we invite you to the PechaKucha Night Brussels Volume 71 edition, which is organised by Architempo in partnership with Beci. Join us to hear 10 inspirational, exciting, and sometimes provocative stories of sustainability, design, and innovation - in just 6 min 40 sec each!

What is PechaKucha?

PechaKucha, translated from Japanese as 'chit-chat', is a storytelling format that uses images rather than reading text from the slides.

It was devised and shared by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham of Klein Dytham Architecture. The first PechaKucha took place in 2003 in Tokyo, and today more than 1,300 cities have PechaKucha Nights.

What is the PechaKucha format?

The PechaKucha concept: each speaker has 400 seconds - 6 minutes 40 sec - for a presentation in 20 images. Each image is on screen for only 20 seconds, and they auto-advance. No more, no less.

PechaKucha nights typically have 8-14 presentations, and topics are diverse.

PechaKucha in Brussels

The Brussels edition was launched by Alok b. Nandi of Architempo in Brussels in 2007, and to date it has had more than 1,000 speakers sharing their narrative in 400 seconds - this is 6 minutes 40 seconds.

What will speakers talk about?

Creating and growing their companies, sustainability and innovation, challenges and successes of their business, and many more.

The event offers a unique blend of inspiration, education, and networking opportunities that are essential for the success of entrepreneurs.

Would you like to share your story? We have a call for speakers until 10 January 2025

  • Send us your proposal to share a story: five lines explaining what you will talk about and one image as an example to be used in the PechaKucha
  • Tell us more about the theme and approach you are going to explore.
  •  We will come back to you and work with you to have your narrative and visual presentation.

Please email your proposals to Ekaterina Clifford: ekc(at)beci.be
